My name is Cedric Bond and I am a messed up person who for some reason was saved by the love of Jesus. Because of that, I race so that I can tell more and more people about Him. Everything else I am or do has meaning because of who I am in Jesus.

In August, 2003 I met Coach Alan Anderson and he invited me to try a kayak for the first time. Ever since then I have been in love with the sport. I can’t really narrow it down to any single reason why I love it so much, how technical it is, how brutally hard we train, the feeling of the boat gliding between strokes at top speed–all of it, I love all of it. One of my favorite things to do in the sport is race K2 with someone. It is so fun to watch the boat get faster over time as you and your partner train. Summer 2010 was a great example of this. My K2 partner Ryan Stock and I paddled first in April in San Diego, then we trained together in OKC in June, raced in Bochum, Germany, trained and raced in Lake Placid, NY, and then finished our season in July in Nova Scotia, Canada.
I am now training in Oklahoma City with coach Shaun Caven, on the first ever Varsity Kayak team for an American University, at Oklahoma City University.
My goals for this next year are to make the Senior National Team in April and start pushing my way onto the international scene.
